Keep selected studio dates bookable without automatic discounts

StudioDock marketing team September 6, 2026 2 min read

A busy studio date does not always need another discount. If you want a date to stay available while keeping automatic discounts off, use a checkout restriction for that date and space.

Set the restriction

Open Special Dates in your StudioDock admin, then choose Checkout restrictions. Give the rule an internal name, choose its start and end dates, and select the spaces it applies to. Under “Block for selected booking dates”, select Automatic discounts, keep the rule active, and save it.

The date remains bookable. For bookings on the selected dates, the rule blocks automatic duration discounts—including booking-plan duration-discount overrides—and last-minute discounts. It does not create a new premium rate or close the space.

Prepaid credit and Promo codes are separate controls. Choose them only when you also intend to restrict those payment or discount options. Blocking automatic discounts alone does not mean that every other form of credit or promotion is blocked.

Check the customer result

Reload the saved rule, then open your public booking page. Compare the same room, duration and time on an affected date and a date outside the range with equivalent weekday or weekend pricing. Other pricing rules can also affect the total. Check the displayed final price before confirming that the rule matches your intention.

The accompanying video uses an isolated StudioDock demonstration with example data and prices. Your room rates, taxes and other settings determine your own quotes. No real customer reservation or provider payment is used in the demonstration.

Choose a closure when the space is unavailable

A checkout restriction controls credit and discounts on bookable dates. If customers should not book the space at all, use a closure instead. Keep that distinction clear when preparing maintenance days, private events or dates with different commercial rules.

Start with one space and one date range, then verify the customer-facing result before sharing your booking page.
